IG12: Cultural Mapping and Data Mining

IG12 is a research consultancy focused on cultural analytics. This work presents the Cultural Codex: a consolidated dataset of London cultural locations built from the London Cultural Infrastructure Map, targeted manual research and Google Maps enrichment.

The Cultural Codex: Interactive Map

An interactive map visualises the consolidated cultural dataset. Locations are colour coded by classification to expose distribution patterns across boroughs. Controls allow boundary overlay and borough filtering. Selecting a venue reveals enriched attributes (category, borough, rating sample, limited review excerpts) to support exploratory spatial reasoning about cultural provision.

Data Integration Lab

Experimental tools powered by custom data pipelines interfacing with public APIs. Each module extends understanding of London's cultural ecosystem by mining financial records, charitable status data, grants flows and demographic context. Together they surface structural relationships, funding patterns and spatial inequalities across cultural provision.
